Biodiv-Wind: SafeWind's interface for real-time wildlife monitoring

I built the new React client interface of SafeWind, the Biodiv-Wind system that monitors flying wildlife on wind farms in real time. Made for intensive use by operators, it brings business data charts, wind farm maps and secure Azure AD sign-in together.

Real-time monitoring for operators

Biodiv-Wind specialises in wildlife protection on wind farm sites. With SafeWind, operators follow that protection in real time, from detections by species group to each wind farm's deterrence and regulation settings.

How I worked for Biodiv-Wind

Brief and my role: A new client interface for SafeWind: I owned its frontend, working with the technical team and the operators.
Constraints: Intensive professional use by operators, with secure sign-in, business data and maps of the wind farms.
Technical decisions: React with Material UI, Redux for state, Nivo charts for business data, Leaflet maps of the wind farms and Azure AD authentication.
Checks and releases: A production release, then steady iterations with the operators on the features they rely on most.
