Profile

Profile and technical skills

I'm Jean-Baptiste Thery, founder of jCode, and I work fully remote. My engineering habits come from projects delivered before AI coding tools.

Today I work with coding agents within each client's rules, and I review and test every change. I am not tied to any technology: I use the one that suits your project.

FAQ

Questions about jCode

What does jCode do?

Freelance web and mobile development, team support, application recovery, AI integration and automation, and technical consulting, for startups and SMEs. jCode also develops its own products: WorkoutGen, a personalised workout generator, and Ragmir, open-source agentic RAG for coding agents.

Who is behind jCode?

Jean-Baptiste Thery, a senior full-stack TypeScript developer with 10 years of web development, 7 of them freelance, founded EURL jCode, registered in Paris. His 14 client projects add up to more than 80 missions on Malt, which counts every billed period of an engagement. You work directly with him, from the brief to delivery.

Do you use AI to develop?

Yes, within your company's rules, with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex, from exploring a codebase to features, tests and documentation. I review and test every change before delivery, as set out on the agentic development page.

Why hire a senior developer when AI can write code?

Because writing code was never the whole job: someone must decide the architecture, check security and data handling, choose what to test and answer for each release. The five questions to ask a developer who uses AI help you check these points.

How do I start an engagement?

Send a short description through Malt or LinkedIn: what you want to build or improve, your current situation, your budget and your target date. We can then agree on the scope and a suitable way to work together.

Do you work on site?

No. All my freelance work is fully remote, under a contract with EURL jCode, a French company, whether you are in France, the UK or the US.
